Lakes and Rivers

• Plan for a day of floating and fly fishing the Bitterroot River.

• Hike in to backcountry Jerry Johnson Hot Springs or visit the year-round Lolo Hot Springs.
• Rock Creek offers great fishing (and camping) just on the other side of the Sapphire Range.

National Forests, Mountains, and Parks

• Explore tons of trails in the Bitterroot Mountains, and maybe even summit Trapper Peak.
• Or head east into the more mellow Sapphire Range and hike through the Anaconda Pintler Wilderness.
• Blodgett Canyon is the most popular place to hike, mountain bike, and horseback ride, and easily accessible from the valley.
• View wildlife at Calf Creek, Lee Metcalf, or the Teller Refuge.

Historic Sites and Museums

• Visit historic sites like the Daly Mansion and Saint Mary's Mission.
• Nearby museums include the Holt Heritage Museum, the Pioneer Memorial Museum, and the Ravalli County Museum.
• For an interesting park with history, swing by the Travelers Rest State Park.

Scenic Drives

• Drive through the valley along the Bitterroot Valley Highway 93 or the Eastside Highway.
• Head west over Lolo Pass.
• Drive south over Lost Trail Pass.
• Or head east into the Sapphire Range via Skalkaho Pass Road.

Entertainment and Nightlife

• For a small valley, there are actually quite a few breweries.
• Visit in the summer and find fresh produce at farmer's markets and nearby farms and orchards.
• Enjoy local talent at the Performing Arts Center or the Hamilton Playhouse.
