Where can I go Ice Climbing in the Bitterroot Valley?
- Blodgett Canyon: The Swan Slabs up Blodgett Canyon are popular for ice climbing. Follow Blodgett Canyon Road from Hamilton, Montana. It's about 7 miles round-trip to the waterfall.
- Bear Creek and Bass Creek: These two canyons are accessible from Bitterroot Valley as well, but the condition of the ice completely depends on the winter. Some winters are great for ice climbing while others see little to no ice.
- Mission Valley: North of the Bitterroot Valley and Missoula, two ice climbing areas attract avid ice climbers. Try Mission Falls (located near St. Ignatius) or Finley Creek (near Arlee).
