Montana Wolf Hunting Districts

Montana is planning a wolf hunting season for 2008. Court challenges could postpone a wolf hunting season from happening in 2008.

The license fee will be $19 for residents and $350 for non-residents.

Each Wildlife Management Unit will have a kill quota. When that quota is approaching or met the season will close within 24 hours. The tags are unlimited. Each hunter is allowed one legal wolf.

The season will run from September 15 - November 30 unless a quota is met.

The Bitterroot National Forest is in Wolf Management Unit 2. The quotas have not been set as of this time.
